Farewell Bill Merry

The South Chapel at Landican Crematorium on the Wirral was standing room only on 1st April for the funeral service of VWBro Bill Merry, PGJO, RAMGR.
Family, Friends and Masons not only filled the chapel itself but also the anti-room that runs beside the South Chapel.  The Eulogy given by Bill’s son was very moving and brought to mind that Masonic line; “The rank is but the guinea stamp; the man himself the gold.”
By the number of Masons who attended the funeral it showed how well-respected Bill was. Fate or coincidence which ever you prefer; Bill had been the PGM’s rep when the driver of the hearse went into the Chair of his Craft Lodge for the first time. This is not meant to be an obituary on Bill Merry just to let people know that Bill got a good send off by Family, Friends and Masons. Rest in peace Bill Merry; for you ‘Did Mark Well’.
